Bathroom Remodeling
This small bathroom remodel in Arlington, VA proves that limited square footage doesn’t mean limited style. The goal was to make the space feel larger, brighter, and more functional—while adding personality through thoughtful material choices and smart storage solutions.
From demolition to final paint, our team managed the entire renovation process for this Arlington home, ensuring every detail worked together in a clean and cohesive way.
Project Overview
Location: Arlington, VA
Project Type: Small Bathroom Remodel
Smart Layout, Big Impact
In a small bathroom, layout is everything. We reworked key elements to maximize usable space while keeping circulation open and comfortable. Removing the soffit and relocating the fan helped visually open up the ceiling, instantly making the room feel taller and less confined.
Custom framing for a new medicine cabinet and relocating the AC vent allowed the new vanity and storage pieces to fit seamlessly into the updated design.
Bold Vanity, Balanced Design
The focal point of this small bathroom in Arlington, VA is the 30″ Fabuwood Allure Galaxy Indigo vanity, paired with a Galaxy Frost white linen closet. The deep indigo finish adds richness and contrast, while the white cabinetry keeps the space feeling light and fresh.
The vanity is topped with MSI Calacatta Miraggio Ceilo quartz, finished with a smooth pencil edge and a subtle 4″ backsplash. An undermount square porcelain sink maintains a clean look, while satin nickel hardware from Jeffrey Alexander adds a polished finishing touch.
Statement Flooring
For the flooring, we installed MSI Kenzzi Zanzzibar Matte 8×8 porcelain tile with Raw Steel grout. The patterned tile adds character and movement without overwhelming the small footprint. Cement board beneath the tile ensures durability and long-term performance.
The patterned floor anchors the space and balances the bold vanity beautifully.
Floor-to-Ceiling Shower Tile
To make the shower feel larger, we extended the wall tile all the way to the ceiling. The shower walls feature DecoVita 12×24 Polished Aqua Blue porcelain tile, installed in a 33% offset vertical pattern for added height and visual interest.
Brushed nickel Schluter edging frames the tile cleanly, tying it in with the plumbing fixtures and shower door hardware.
On the shower floor, Carrara White honed 2″ hexagon mosaic tile adds texture while keeping the palette soft and cohesive.
Smart Shower Storage & Shelving
Instead of recessed niches, this shower features clean, built-in corner shelves that provide practical storage without interrupting the tile layout. The corner shelving keeps shampoos and everyday essentials organized while maintaining the streamlined look of the floor-to-ceiling tile — an important detail in any small bathroom remodel in Arlington, VA.
Above the toilet, we installed two wood floating shelves for additional storage and decorative flexibility. These open shelves help maximize vertical space, which is especially valuable in a compact Arlington bathroom.
Lighting, Comfort & Fixtures
Thoughtful lighting and ventilation upgrades helped elevate this Arlington small bathroom:
Recessed light added over the shower
Heater fan & light combo installed for year-round comfort
Kohler mirrored medicine cabinet for concealed storage
Capital Lighting vanity fixture for balanced illumination
Delta Arvo In2ition shower system in brushed nickel
Kohler Levity semi-frameless sliding shower door
Broan PowerHeat ceiling-mounted heated exhaust fan
These upgrades ensure the bathroom is not only stylish but also comfortable and practical every day.
Finishing Touches
The walls, trim, and ceiling were painted in Benjamin Moore Sapphire Ice 808, a soft blue tone that complements the aqua shower tile and deep indigo vanity while keeping the space feeling airy.
Every drywall patch, vent relocation, and framing adjustment was carefully finished to create a seamless result.
The Final Result
This small bathroom remodel in Arlington, VA now feels bright, modern, and thoughtfully designed. With bold cabinetry, patterned flooring, floor-to-ceiling shower tile, and smart storage solutions, the space proves that even a compact bathroom can deliver both style and functionality.
